An annual school retreat cum team building event was held on 21 August 2024 at the Noah’s Ark Hotel and Resort. All full time academic and administrative staff of SDSC participated to review the achievements, propose initiatives and develop strategies for the coming year.

In order to foster a stronger sense of unity among the academic and administrative members of our school, a team building event which was led by the “Boys Brigade, Hong Kong” was included as part of the activities of the school retreat this year. Colleagues were divided into five groups and required to complete three tasks: Black Hole, Bucket Tower, and Balls & Rings. Through these tasks, our team dynamics were strengthened.  It also enhanced the communication and collaboration among colleagues, which contributed to a more cohesive and productive work environment.

After lunch, a brainstorming on strategic direction was held with focuses on the positioning of the school and also based on the six strategic focus areas of the university for carrying out discussions. Colleagues shared their views on programme development, enhancement of teaching and research, industry engagement, etc. which significantly contributes to the growth and success of our school.
