About the School of Decision Sciences
Value-added Programme
Starting from 2018/19 academic year, all undergraduate (UG) programmes offered by the School of Decision Sciences are under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP). The School also offers three taught postgraduate (TPG) programmes currently, and plans to offer two new TPG programmes and one doctorate degree programme in 2025/26 and 2026/27 respectively, in response to the market needs.
All-round Student Experience
In addition to academic cultivation in the classroom, the School encourages students to apply their knowledge and skills in real-life situations though various platforms: internal/external competitions, exchange and internships.
Research
Since the School’s inception in 2014, our academic staff have worked hard on securing external competitive grants. We also have a commitment to high quality applied research. The School has three strategic research areas:
- Artificial Intelligence and Networking with Cloud
- Business Analytics and Supply Chain Excellence
- Data Mining and Quantitative Risk Management
Industrial Collaboration
The School, through its strong connections with the industries secured various types of opportunities for job placement, exchange, competition, and scholarships to enhance students’ learning experiences. Besides, we continue to explore collaboration opportunities with the private sector/industry for impactful applied research.
What is Decision Sciences
It encompasses science, engineering and business, with special emphasis on managing information and improving decision-making process in this digital era of Internet and Big Data.
