
Jointly organised by the School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS) and the School of Decision Sciences (SDSC), a professional talk titled “The Prospect of Hong Kong Economy and Wealth Management” was successfully held on 9 April 2026. This event provides an opportunity to bring together students and colleagues to gain first-hand insights into Hong Kong’s evolving economic landscape and the future of wealth management.
The talk featured distinguished speakers Dr Frankie Yeung, BBS, MH, JP, Senior District Director of AIA Hong Kong and Managing Director of Tak Shing Investment Management Limited, and Dr Aaron Lai, Senior District Director of AIA Hong Kong. Both speakers are senior experts in the insurance, financial planning, and wealth management sectors.
Throughout the seminar, the speakers provided an in-depth analysis of Hong Kong’s macroeconomic outlook and the latest developments in the insurance industry. Drawing on industry data and policy perspectives, they highlighted the crucial role of insurance in social protection and wealth management, while also examining emerging opportunities and challenges facing the sector. The speakers further explored how InsurTech and innovation are reshaping business models and enhancing customer experience, as well as the growth potential arising from the integration of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
The talk generated active engagement from participants. Students benefitted from the speakers’ real-world perspectives on industry trends and career development, thereby enhancing their understanding of the synergy between economic analysis and wealth management practices in a dynamic environment.
