The International Conference on Decision Science & Management (ICDSM2024) was successfully held on 26-28 April 2024 at HSUHK. The conference attracted participants, including experts, practitioners, scientists and decision-makers from academia and industry worldwide.
This conference was organised by the Big Data Intelligence Centre, School of Decision Sciences. It aims to foster a strong, lively and well-connected international research community. It served as a platform that brings researchers and academia together to share recent research work and exchange insights on all aspects of decision science and management.
It was our honour to have four distinguished keynote speakers from the city and overseas countries, such as the United Kingdom and New Zealand, join us on the campus. They are Professor Sam Kwong, Associate Vice-President (Strategic Research) and Chair Professor of Computational Intelligence, from Lingnan University; Professor K.L. Siau, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Chair Professor of Information Systems, from the City University of Hong Kong; Professor Mike Tse from Cardiff University, UK and Dr Vipul Jain from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. The keynote speeches at the conference provided valuable insights into diverse topics, ranging from deep learning-based video coding to the future of the workplace, eye-tracking methodologies, supply chain 5.0 framework, and intelligent decision-making. The audience left the conference with a broader perspective on decision science and management. They were equipped with a deeper understanding and ideas to drive innovation and tackle complex challenges in their respective fields.
We invited Professor Srikanta Patnaik from IIMT, Bhubaneswar, India and President Simon Ho Shun-man to deliver welcome remarks for us. In addition, we also welcomed Professor Andrew Ip from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, Professor Jason Tsai from the International Engineering & Technology Institute, Professor Chen Guomin from Guilin University of Aerospace Technology, Professor Tan Xiao from Guangdong University of Science & Technology, Dr Huang Hao from Hubei University, Professor B.B. Gupta from Asia University as our guest of honour.
During the conference, participants gained insights in the keynote presentation sessions and interacted with the speakers and presenters in the poster and paper presentation sessions. They used this unique opportunity to network and build relationships with decision science and management professionals. Best paper awards were also presented to recognise and promote quality contributions to outstanding participants at the conference. The best papers about ride-sharing strategy formulation, online product review mining, and generative AI in cold chain management were presented to the audience.
