SCM Academic Wins Silver Medal at iCAN 2026

The School of Decision Sciences is pleased to announce that Dr Jack Wu, Associate Professor of the Department of Supply Chain and Information Management (SCM) and Director of the HSUHK’s Cloud Innovation School (CIS) has been recognised at the 11th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada (iCAN 2026), held online on 29 August 2026.

A collaborative project developed by CIS, the Cyber-Physical Systems Laboratory of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Bolly Express Ltd., a partner of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, received a Silver Medal and the TÜMMİAD Special Award. The TÜMMİAD Special Award, presented by the Turkish Inventors Association, recognises impactful inventions showcased at international invention competitions.

The award-winning project, “BEXTools-ESGPath: An AI-Driven ESG Intelligence System for Decoding Corporate Sustainability Reports and Prioritising ESG Capability Roadmaps,” leverages AI technologies to help organisations, particularly SMEs, analyse sustainability reports, identify ESG priorities and develop practical sustainability roadmaps.

Dr Wu said, “This recognition affirms the potential of cloud intelligence and explainable AI in addressing real-world sustainability challenges.” He added that ESGPath helps organisations identify priorities and build ESG capabilities, while providing SMEs with practical guidance on sustainability planning.
