19 May, 2026

The International Conference on Decision Science & Management (ICDSM2026) was successfully held on 24-26 April 2026 at HSUHK. Hosted by the Big Data Intelligence Centre (BDIC), the School of Decision Sciences, the conference attracted participants, including experts, practitioners, scientists and decision-makers from academia and industry worldwide. It served as a great platform for top global experts to discuss how data analytics, computer science, and business management are driving future industry changes.

It was our honour to have five distinguished keynote speakers from the city and overseas countries, including United States, Thailand, India, and Germany, joinning us on the campus. They are Professor Madjid Tavana, Distinguished Chair and Professor of Business Analytics at La Salle University, United States; Professor Sam Kwong, Associate Vice-President (Strategic Research), J.K. Lee Chair Professor of Computational Intelligence and the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies of Lingnan University (Hong Kong); Toni Drescher, CEO of the INC Innovation Center Group, Germany; Professor Pornthipa Ongkunaruk, Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Kasetsart University, Thailand; and Professor Ujjwal Maulik, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Jadavpur University, India. The keynote speeches covered a wide spectrum, from foundational theories to real-world practical applications. They broadened participants’ perspectives on decision science and management, equipping them with new ideas to tackle challenges in their own fields.

We invited Professor Chan Wai Sum, Dean of the School of Decision Sciences, HSUHK, Professor Madjid Tavana, Honorary Chair of ICDSM 2026, Dr Cathy Lam, Director of BDIC to deliver welcome remarks. This was followed by a souvenir presentation and a group photo to commemorate this special academic gathering. Throughout the conference, participants gained valuable insights in the keynote sessions and engaged actively with the speakers and presenters in the poster, paper presentation and conference workshop sessions. The conference successfully showcased the latest research in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Supply Chain Management, serving as an excellent platform for networking and inspiring new ideas.

Best paper awards were also presented to recognise and promote quality contributions to outstanding participants at the conference. The winners shared their findings and received their awards on stage in front of all the guests, highlighting the bright future of the next generation of researchers. The success of ICDSM 2026 has undoubtedly pushed forward the collaboration and growth of different fields within decision science and management.
